Our client is an international leader in the design and production of geotextile solutions for civil engineering, soil reinforcement and ground stabilization. Due to continued development we are now looking for an experienced professional for the role of:

 

Procurement and Supply Chain Manager - EMEA

Overall role and responsibility:    

Your main responsibility will be to expand the supply chain, improve procurement activities by driving down costs and maintaining a reliable stream of quality materials both for manufacturing and re-sale. You will work closely with the product management, technical and customer service teams to deliver sustainable supplier partnerships.

 

Responsibilities:  

* Negotiate long-term contracts with existing and new vendors to ensure optimum cost and reliable supply
* Engage with current vendors of approved technical raw materials (polymers, masterbatches, geotextiles, glass roving and polyester etc.) to further access market dynamics, enabling more informed strategic purchasing decisions
* Evaluate the current portfolio of bought in re-salable items, negotiate improved trading terms with the vendors and provide alternative procurement opportunities
* Review current logistics spend to include freight and warehousing across EMEA, provide alternative solutions to reduce overall cost, whilst maintaining and improving customer service levels
* Develop plans, cost estimates and schedules for integrating these needs into existing purchasing activities
* Analyze and evaluate the organization’s overall purchasing trends to potential bulk purchases; analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
* Identify, evaluate and capitalize on opportunities to reduce purchasing costs by improving the organization’s buying patterns and supply channels, utilities spending
* Ensure domestic and international transport best solutions
* Monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending and achieve volume, timeliness, reliability and safety standards
* Oversee the maintenance of inventory control systems that track the status of purchase orders, inventory levels and production requirements
* Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, orders and other documents to coordinate materials handling activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for materials
* Building strong partnerships with supply chain partners and internal cross-functional business partners (marketing, sales, finance, quality, regulatory) to clarify demand requirements and drive improvements in forecast accuracy
* Evaluating the impact of events (tender, seasonality, mid-long term product strategy) on demand forecast
* Providing supply chain input to the business planning process and participates in development of annual business plans
* Monitoring replenishment planning at aggregated level (throughout the supply chain network - from our manufacturing plants through the supply points to the selling points)
* Reporting to Vice President Operations, Sourcing and Supply Chain Manager

 

Requirements:   

* Acquired Bachelor/Master University degree in Engineering / Business / Logistics or similar field
* Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in Procurement & Supply Chain management
* Strong background in technical and high volume procurement of the following materials: polymers, resins, masterbatches PE, HDPE etc. , civil engineering product industry experience would be an advantage
* Fluent level of English (both written and spoken)
* Experience in working with ERP systems
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to work effectively with others across a range of functions
* Very good interpersonal skills with assertive and collaborative personality
* Strong compliance and customer orientation approach
* Strong analytical skills, ability to multitask and set priorities effectively
* Open to frequent travel on a regional level
