For our Client, Polish transport company, we are looking for a competent candidate for the position of:
General Manager
Region of Activity: Poland, international
Place of work: West of Poland
Responsibilities:
* Manage the operations of the local Poland business unit to include P&L responsibility
* Plan and realize the yearly business plans and budgets
* Supervise the local team according to company policies and procedures
* Organize recruitment, training and management of drivers
* Ensure permanent control and optimization of all costs and quality
* Foresee potential risks, prepare and implement solutions
* Approve and sign legal documents of the company
* Develop the local Poland market, increase market segment, start-up of chartering activities
* Market analysis (competition, quantity, pricing)
* Ensure the company is acting within the framework of Polish and European laws (licenses, labor law, transport regulations, occupational safety, certificates etc.)
* Improve search approach for qualified personnel
* Improve driver training and qualifications standards
* Responsible for HR issues: recruitment, training, payroll, contracts, regulations, H&S, etc.
* Manage the accounting and payroll activities in collaboration with external provider
* Manage the truck fleet: planning, controlling, optimizing quality and costs
* Improve maintenance programs to ensure full fleet availability
* Determine and allocate financial resources to the priorities of the company
* Cooperate with clients and partners: advertising and communication ventures, sponsorships, participation in events and fairs, marketing activities, web activities
* Overall improvement of the business with regard to efficiency and cost control
Requirements:
* Higher Education in Transport, Logistics or similar
* Professional experience in a similar role, general manager or sales manager level
* Practical experience in management of company’s’ own truck fleet and drivers
* Good knowledge of domestic and international transport logistics
* People management skills, team management experience is a must
* Fluent in English language; knowledge of German would be an asset
* Proficient in MS Office
* Strategical, economical, analytical and managerial thinking
* Strong sense of responsibility and customer orientation
* Good communication skills, hands-on approach
* Very good organizational skills, results-oriented
