Our client is a global leader in design, manufacture and sale of highly advanced technology for the energy sector. Due to continued development we are now looking for an experienced professional for the role of:
Chief Accountant
Place of Work: Warsaw
Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for all finance, accounting and controlling for the Polish business unit
- Preparation of profit center analysis, budget and forecasts according Group standards
- Preparation of the local statutory accounts
- Preparation of monthly reporting under IFRS and Local GAAP (including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow forecasts)
- Finance matters and controlling related to the business activities including foreign exchange evaluation vs. group currency
- Managing a team of 2 accountants
- Responsible for payroll and management of external payroll provider
- Cooperate with internal and external lawyers, consultants and auditors regarding tax, corporation law, etc.
- Administrate the records for overtime, vacation, illness, medical insurance etc. and supporting the payroll process in cooperation with external payroll provider
- Preparation of annual tax return, monthly VAT reports and other statistical reports required by local authorities
- Debtors reporting and aged debt profiling each month
- Reporting to local GM and regional Finance Director
Requirements:
- Higher education in finance and/or accounting
- Minimum 3 year‘s experience in accounting and controlling, preferably in an international environment, proven experience as a Chief accountant
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Ability to operate, influence and counsel at the most senior level within your function and to business clients
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Highly motivated, business oriented and used to work independently within a matrix based organization
- Close cooperation with both the local managers and the finance and accounting departments at the European HQ
- Good working knowledge of SAP is a must
- Very good English is required, spoken and written, German would be an advantage
