Our client is an international, independent foundry, in operation since 1947, delivering well thought out and modern cast iron solutions to quality conscious customers. The main competences are machine molded raw and machined iron castings, primarily in medium-sized batches. As a natural part of the development they also offer surface treatment and machining from their own machine shop.
Due to continued development we are now looking for an experienced professional for the role of:
Foundry Production Manager
Denmark
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all production activities in the foundry with main production in Denmark and some activities also located in Poland.
- Manage the foundry production activities to secure on-time delivery, high level of quality internally and externally, efficient production with strong cost control as well as managing personnel resources and safety in the working environment.
- Responsible for managing the local production team of 8 production supervisors, an engineering team as well as 220 blue collar employees in Denmark and 20 in Poland.
- Provide direction and support for all work shifts, establish work schedules and assignments as necessary
- Daily contact with supervisors on all production issues(core making, casting, melting, fettling, inspection, warehouse, planning, metallurgy and engineering)
- Close cooperation with the management team in Denmark (sales, pattern shop, finance & administration, quality)
- Key player in new investment projects, new technology/technical solutions, key performance initiatives, cost cutting, efficiency improvements
- Drive cost initiatives, efficiency gains, process improvements, proper labor utilization and improvements in yield and reliability
- Address employee concerns, resolve problems, train, coach and discipline employees and make recommendations for correct sizing, cooperation with the trade union representatives
- Reporting to the CEO for the Group, located in Denmark
Requirements:
- Higher Engineering Degree – production/mechanical/manufacturing/foundry engineering discipline
- Minimum 5-7 years in a managerial role in a foundry environment is a must
- Extensive experience within an international foundry environment, working to highest production and quality standards
- Fluent English spoken and written is required
- Excellent leadership and decision making attributes
- Strong communication and organization skills are required
- Open to fully relocate on a long-term basis to Denmark
- Willingness to learn Danish language
